Carlsmith Ball Elevates Alicia M. Fung to Partner
Carlsmith Ball is pleased to announce that Alicia M. Fung has been promoted to partner. She is based in the firm’s Honolulu office.
As a member of Carlsmith Ball's Transactional Practice Group, Fung focuses on real estate and project development, business, finance, and corporate matters. Most recently, she was selected by attorney peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America: Ones to Watch 2025 in the areas of Administrative/Regulatory Law, Financial Services Regulation Law, and Real Estate Law.
Fung joined the firm in December 2020, following a two-year clerkship at the Hawaii Intermediate Court of Appeals with the Honorable Derrick H.M. Chan (Ret.). She holds a M.B.A from the Shidler College of Business and a J.D. from the William S. Richardson School of Law, where she graduated cum laude. During law school, Fung was Co-Editor-in-Chief of the Asian-Pacific Law & Policy Journal, and received several scholarships, including the Lawrence C. Foster Endowment for Pacific Asian Legal Studies. She is fluent in conversational Japanese.
Prior to attending graduate school, Fung was a construction engineer. She graduated magna cum laude with a B.S. in Civil Engineering and Minor in Business from the University of Hawaii at Manoa, where she was Regents Scholar and a recipient of the Dr. Arthur N. L. Chiu Endowed Scholarship in Civil Engineering.
