HONOLULU (January 26, 2011)-Carlsmith Ball LLP announces that Justin M. Goldstein has joined its Los Angeles office as a partner. Goldstein, 38, will play a central role in Carlsmith Ball's Entertainment and Media Litigation Group.
"Justin Goldstein is an outstanding addition to our firm's litigation practice," Chairman Karl Kobayashi said. "Justin's extensive background litigating and counseling clients in high-stakes, high-profile matters-particularly in the entertainment and intellectual property arenas-makes him an ideal member of our team."
Goldstein began his career with Katten Muchin Rosenman, and spent the last ten years at O'Melveny & Myers litigating several of the largest high-tech, entertainment, and licensing disputes in recent years. Goldstein has represented motion picture studios, production companies, television networks, Internet companies, entertainers, athletes, and executives in matters involving copyright, trademark, trade secret, profit participation, contract, fiduciary duty, and other claims. He has also handled a broad variety of commercial and intellectual property disputes for a host of non-entertainment companies. Goldstein said, "I have been very fortunate throughout my career to practice with exceptional lawyers. I'm delighted to now join the tremendous group at Carlsmith, and continue building my practice with them. Carlsmith's size and depth of expertise give me an opportunity to offer the value-added legal service that clients demand and deserve."
Carlsmith Ball's Entertainment and Media Litigation Group provides clients with a unique perspective, as its team of attorneys have been industry insiders as well as long-time counselors to the major studios, networks, production companies, newspapers, music companies, radio stations, parks and resorts, and a range of other entertainment-related businesses. We are fortunate to have many long-term relationships within the industry. Adding Justin to the firm's practice will greatly advance our mission of offering premier-level representation to those clients at distinctly competitive rates."
