Lucas K. Love Rejoins Carlsmith Ball’s Tax Practice in the Honolulu Office
Carlsmith Ball is pleased to welcome back Lucas K. Love to the firm as Of Counsel in our Honolulu office. He was previously with the firm from 2015 to 2021. Love practices primarily in the area of tax law, and was recently selected for the 2024 Hawaii Super Lawyers List by Super Lawyers©, a rating service of outstanding lawyers who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement.
Love started his law career over a decade ago in the Palo Alto office of Baker McKenzie, where he advised some of Silicon Valley’s largest companies on a variety of international tax planning and federal tax controversy matters. He was also a summer associate in the Honors Program with the Office of Chief Counsel of the IRS. Love received his Juris Doctor from the University of California Berkeley School of Law, where he was an Articles Editor for the Berkeley Journal of International Law.
Prior to law school, Love was a staff auditor at one of the nation's largest and most prestigious accounting firms. He has a master's degree in accounting and is a Certified Public Accountant (not in public practice). He received his Bachelor of Arts from the University of California at Los Angeles.
