
Alana Chimes is Of Counsel in the firm’s Maui Office. Her practice is varied and includes administrative and regulatory law, real estate, and litigation. Among other things, Alana assists businesses with navigating the regulations for obtaining and maintaining liquor licenses, and her real estate practice includes lease disputes, summary possessions and evictions, homeowners association law, litigation, and land title issues.
Prior to joining the firm, Alana was a business litigator in the Orange County, California offices of Greenberg Traurig LLP and Sheppard Mullin LLP. There, she represented restaurant, retail, grocery, resort, and timeshare chains, state and city entities, landlords, and property management companies in a broad range of business litigation matters, including claims relating to disabled access, lease disputes, breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, employment, and intellectual property.
Alana has served as a judicial extern in both the California bankruptcy court (U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Central District of California) and appellate court (California Court of Appeal, Fourth District, Division III).
Alana was valedictorian of her law school class, receiving her J.D., summa cum laude, from the Fowler School of Law at Chapman University. She earned fifteen CALI Excellence for the Future Awards (for the highest class grade), was awarded the William Stallworth Scholarship for academic achievement in contracts law, and was an editor of the Chapman Law Review.
