
James Stone III is an associate in the firm’s Honolulu office and a member of its Litigation and Alternative Dispute Resolution practice group. Prior to joining the firm, James worked as a litigation associate at another law firm in Honolulu.
James received his J.D. from the University of Hawaiʻi, William S. Richardson School of Law and his B.A. in English from the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa.
While attending law school, James served as Co-Captain of the Native American Moot Court Team and as a Student Ambassador. James served as a judicial extern for the Honorable Chief Justice Mark E. Recktenwald and the Honorable Associate Justice Sabrina S. McKenna of the Hawaiʻi Supreme Court. James also served as a Teaching Assistant where he tutored first-year law students in Civil Procedure. During his studies, James received the CALI Excellence for the Future Award for achieving the highest grade in four classes. James is a proud Ulu Lehua Scholar.
Prior to attending law school, James worked at the Hawaiʻi State House of Representatives for then Speaker of the House, Scott K. Saiki.
