Carlsmith Ball Hires James M.K. Stone III in Honolulu Office

Carlsmith Ball LLP is pleased to announce that James M.K. Stone III has joined the firm’s Honolulu office as an associate in the Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice group.

Stone received his J.D. from the University of Hawaiʻi, William S. Richardson School of Law, where, among other things, he served as Co-Captain of the Native American Moot Court Team and as a Teaching Assistant for Civil Procedure. During law school, he received the CALI Excellence for the Future Award in Civil Procedure I, Legal Research, Lawyering Fundamentals II, and Health Law: Bioethics. He is a proud Ulu Lehua Scholar.

His prior professional experience includes serving as a judicial extern for the Honorable Chief Justice Mark E. Recktenwald and the Honorable Associate Justice Sabrina S. McKenna of the Hawaiʻi Supreme Court. He previously worked in private practice at another local law firm.

Stone received his B.A. in English from the University of Hawaiʻi at Manoa. Prior to attending law school, he worked at the Hawaiʻi State House of Representatives for then-Speaker of the House, Scott K. Saiki.
